Building a future in Trinidad

Charity building project in Trinidad.

Over the summer one of our 5th year students, Jason Conroy, had an experience he says he will never forget when he and 13 other volunteers took part in a building project in Trinidad.

The project took three weeks to complete and involved building a house and new facilities for a disadvantaged family. A number of donors, including the Institute, contributed towards the costs of the trip and the building project.

The house Rhonda and her three children (Kayla, Josiah, and Joshua) were living in. The drain in the kitchen led out to the front of the house, there was no running water and there was no proper toilet either.

Some students from a local Presentation Brothers school came to help one day and assisted with the construction of a new kitchen.
