for 4th Year Students

This 5-day Intensive Revision course provides Transition Year students with expert tuition, high quality notes and key techniques to enable them to achieve their maximum potential and get a head start on the Leaving Cert syllabus.

Students enrolling in this course will receive:

  • Daily live and interactive classes.
  • Recordings of classes to enable students to replay, rewind and re-watch all of their classes.
  • These recordings will be available to students until the end of the 2021/22 academic year.

The Christmas course this year is being taught onsite at our campus in Leeson Street and online. Students can choose to attend onsite or online classes or a combination of onsite and online classes, which ever suits their personal preferences. Our teachers have thousands of hours of experience in delivering highly effective exam focused tuition online and in the classroom. Both classes offer the student the ability to interact directly with the teacher. Every class is recorded, so student can review their classes right up to the end of the state exams.

This course introduces students to the key requirements of Leaving Certificate Higher Level English.

Topics from:

  • Effective essay writing
  • Introduction to the Language of Argument and Narration
    Both are key concepts on the Leaving Certificate curriculum.
  • Introduction to Othello
    The Shakespeare play that will be studied by 95% of students for Leaving Certificate 2023.
  • Introduction to the poetry of Elizabeth Bishop and WB Yeats
    Two of the eight poets prescribed for study in Leaving Certificate 2023.



This course is aimed at students who would like to improve their overall command of Irish and improve their understanding of Irish sentence structure. Our course is designed to give students the confidence to construct and compose their own sentences. Among the grammatical elements, we will look at the autonomous form along with the past, present and future tenses with a view to linking and forming sentences. Our course will also look at the marking scheme for the Leaving Certificate and the marking schemes in place so students will start their senior cycle on the right foot.

Q: How long is the course?

A:       This course will be run over 5 days during the Christmas break. It will run from Tuesday 28th Dec – Saturday 1st Jan.


Q: How long is each class?

A: Each class lasts 75 minutes.


Q: Is it possible to receive copies of the Institute’s class notes?

A:       Yes. Our classes are supported by the Institute’s exam-focused class notes which will be handed to the students in class or delivered to students homes FREE of charge, for those attending online. Please allow five working days for delivery.


Q: If I enrol in a class in Leeson Street, can I also avail of classes online?

A: Yes, you can enrol in classes both online and at our Leeson Street Campus.


Q: Are the class notes available online?

A: No, a hard copy will be provided to each student from the teacher for the subjects they enrol in, either in the class or they will be delivered free of charge for those attending online.


Q: Are the classes conducted ‘lecture style’ or are students free to ask questions?

A: Our classes are interactive and our teachers use a variety of methods to ensure that students can ask questions and contribute to the class.


Q: My son/daughter cannot attended the course. Can we buy the notes?

A: No. Teaching is a central part of all our courses. The notes are to facilitate recall and revision of the day’s work covered by the teacher.

Q: How will I access my online courses?

A:       We will email you a link to the live classes for which you are enrolled, along with a unique password. Please allow one working day from time of booking.
