The beautiful landscape of the Cooley Peninsula was the setting for our annual Gaisce adventure challenge last weekend, when 43 of our 4th and 5th year students undertook a two day, 25km trek in Carlingford, Co. Louth.
Orla Ni Shuilleabhain (4th Year Head), Mary Dorgan (Guidance Counsellor) and Richard Whealan (Deputy Principal) accompanied the group on their action packed weekend.
Thankfully the weather stayed dry and sunny throughout the long and challenging 2 days of hill walking, where students got to hone their map reading skills and take in the breath taking views. In the evening students enjoyed a home cooked dinner, relaxed in the games room and showcased their musical talents.
After the walk was completed on the Monday, students were given a couple of hours in the woods for some competitive games of laser combat.
Well done to everyone who took part and a big thank you to the Carlingford Adventure Centre for their warm welcome and excellent facilities.
