Congratulations to seven students from the Institute who have progressed through to the next round of the Leinster Schools Debating Competition.
The first round, which drew to a close last week, tasked students with debating issues ranging from the formation of an EU super state to the role of doctors in children’s medical decisions.
This competition is a great way for students to hone their public speaking skills as well as critically assess subjects that they may not have previously thought about.
The seven students going through to the next round are Mark Smyth (6th year), Diana Panova (6th year), Edward Donovan (5th year), Aisling O’Brien (5th year), Molly Whelan (5th year), Thomas Moore (5th year) and Latisha Igwe (5th year). Wishing you all the very best of luck!
