Congratulations to the past pupils from the Institute who are studying medicine who, along with their UCD classmates, received their white coats at the recent Clinical Commencement Ceremony, which took place in UCD O’Reilly Hall on 17th February 2017.
The ‘White Coat’ Ceremony is a key milestone in the students’ education as it marks formally the point at which they become fully immersed in clinical training. Whilst working on the wards or at patient clinics, they are expected to behave as young doctors in training with patient empathy and professionalism, two important behaviours that they must exhibit as they seek to develop their own professional identity.
The event was attended by students, their families, friends and supporters as well as by a number of UCD academic faculty.
Congratulations to our students on reaching this important milestone and every best wish as you undertake your clinical training in the years ahead.
