A group of our 4th year students are starting their SUAS placement in local schools this week, where they will be helping children from disadvantaged communities improve their numeracy and literacy skills.
The students have completed a 4 hour training workshop with the Irish based charity, and are now starting a 14 week placement, that will involve mentoring local children and helping them to improve their maths and reading skills.
We’ll be checking in with them over the next 14 weeks to see how they’re getting on.
SUAS is an Irish based educational charity aimed at providing higher levels of education for children in India and Kenya but also locally around Ireland. Since its establishment in 2002, SUAS has helped over 3,300 children from disadvantaged communities to improve their literacy skills.
