Welcome to Week 31 of The Buzz Newsletter!
It’s Week 31 of The Buzz Newsletter, & we hope you all had a lovely long bank holiday weekend! It appears that with another week, another congratulations is in order! Our rowing team represented the Institute at the School’s Regatta 2026 on the 26th April at O’Brien’s Bridge. 6th year Elle Brady & 5th Year Audrey O’Sullivan came 2nd in the Women’s U23 Pair & placed 3rd nationally, & fellow 5th year Siun Mc Carthy placed 17th nationally in Women’s U23 singles. The schools Regatta serves as an important stepping stone for athletes aiming to progress into senior club rowing.
Another well done is in order to 6th year Niamh Sheehan, who is the winner of the Institute’s annual photo competition: Random Acts of Wildness. This is a nature engagement challenge run in Spring to encourage students to go outside and take pictures of anything that grabs their attention. While we all know the benefits of going outside, sometimes we just need a little bit of motivation to do so, & thanks to everyone who entered.
