6th Year Head

6th Year is the year everything comes together. The course is covered, the exams are mapped out and every class is focused on one thing: making sure you walk into the exam hall ready. That is what we do here, and we do it better than anyone else.

Every student in 6th Year has a team around them from day one. Teachers who know the marking schemes inside out, a timetable built for results and a year head whose door is always open. I work closely with every student to make sure they are on track, supported and getting the most out of every week between September and June.

If you are considering joining us for 6th Year, get in touch. I would love to tell you more.

Recorded Classes and Legendary Notes

We livestream and record every class taught at The Institute of Education. These make very effective revision tools.

Exceptional Support

We support our students to achieve their potential by providing them with additional weekly masterclasses, tutorials and project support classes. Student wellbeing is at the centre of everything we do. Our dedicated guidance and mentoring team are friendly and approachable. We encourage students to participate in our extensive co-curricular and extra-curricular programme. Happy students are students who achieve their potential.

A Warm Welcoming Commity

Many 6th Year students at The Institute of Education are joining from other schools, and the first day can feel daunting. It doesn’t stay that way for long. Everyone arrives into the same environment, with the same focus and the same goal, with plenty of opportunities to make friends that will last a lifetime.

Work to Your Strengths

6th Year at The Institute of Education is where students find out what they’re actually capable of. A dedicated study skills programme helps you build the revision habits that will hold up under pressure. A wellness programme tackles stress, nutrition and mental health head on. And our health and fitness programme run by an Irish international athlete makes sure you’re not running on empty when it counts.

Total Guidance at Every Step

We know the Leaving Cert is the immediate goal, but it’s not the only one. A dedicated team of guidance counsellors works closely with every 6th Year student throughout the year, supporting CAO applications, UCAS applications, college decisions, interview preparation and whatever comes next. Whether you know exactly where you’re going or haven’t quite figured it out yet, the guidance team at The Institute of Education makes sure you don’t have to figure it out alone.
