Over 50 digitally equipped classrooms, modern science labs, a dedicated art studio, a music room, fitness centre, a home economics kitchen and large bright study halls available seven days a week.

School Principal

For over 50 years, we have given international students a globally recognised pathway to top universities in Ireland, the UK and beyond. Based in the heart of Dublin, we are one of the largest and most successful independent schools in Ireland, and we send more students on to third-level education than any other school in the country.

Our focus is clear: results and exam success. Every student who comes through our doors is fully equipped to perform at their best, in an environment that is both supportive and genuinely focused on getting the outcome they came here for.

Learn More About Our School

Study Halls

The bright, open top floor Raymond Kearns Hall exemplifies study halls at The Institute. The Institute of Education provides large study halls for supervised, distraction-free study. Supervised study is built into every student’s timetable, with additional supervised sessions available on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.

State of the Art IT & Digital Infrastructure

The Institute of Education invested millions in digital infrastructure over the past decade. This makes it the largest secondary school installation in Europe for streamed and recorded e-learning. All classrooms are equipped with video and sound recording technology, allowing every class to be recorded and made available to students afterwards.

Science Labs

The Institute of Education has a modern science laboratory for students studying Leaving Certificate science subjects. The lab is equipped for hands-on, safe practical work, and experienced laboratory technicians are on hand to support students during classes.

Home Economics Kitchen

The home economics kitchen at The Institute of Education has individual workstations for each student, each fitted with a microwave, oven, hob, fridge freezer, food processor, utensils and storage space. The kitchen meets HACCP industry standards for food preparation.

Music Room

The Institute of Education redeveloped its music room in 2021. It is equipped with piano, keyboard and a note board, along with multimedia computers used for the music technology element of the Leaving Certificate syllabus.

Computer Rooms

The Institute of Education has a computer lab for student research and project work, along with a separate purpose-designed computer room available to all students.

Art Room

The Institute of Education created a dedicated art room in 2021. The studio is bright and spacious, with the facilities and space needed for students to work on their Leaving Certificate Art coursework.

Food and Drink

The Institute of Education has a canteen and a coffee shop on site, giving students easy access to a proper meal or a coffee without ever having to leave the building. Whether it is a quick bite between classes or a proper sit-down lunch, there is somewhere on campus to grab it.
