years of Accounting teaching experience
Accounting rewards consistent, methodical practice more than any other Leaving Cert subject, marks are won and lost on layout, workings and the marking scheme, not just the right final answer. Our expert teachers focus on continuous exam-standard practice with a close eye on how questions are actually marked.

What To Expect
Leaving Cert Accounting is built around two related but distinct areas, and confidence in both matters more than being strong in just one.
Covers preparing final accounts for sole traders, clubs, farms and service firms, along with depreciation, adjustments, and increasingly, company accounts.
Layout matters as much as arithmetic here, marks are awarded for correct structure and workings, not just the final figure.
Covers costing, budgeting and ratio analysis, tools used to interpret a business’s performance rather than simply record its transactions.
This section rewards understanding what the numbers actually mean, since interpretation questions are common alongside pure calculation.

6th Year has one online Weekly Grinds class (Wednesday 19:00). 5th Year Weekly Grinds is currently Leeson Street only, with no online option. The August Preparation Course for Accounting is Leeson Street only at present.
