100
years of Chemistry teaching experience
Chemistry rewards students who understand the reasoning behind reactions and calculations, not just the formulae, and the practical experiments section is often the most under-revised part of the course. Our expert teachers combine exam-focused theory teaching with genuine attention to the practicals.

What To Expect
Leaving Cert Chemistry tests two quite different skills, applying theory to calculations and reactions, and understanding the mandatory practical experiments.
The bulk of the exam covers atomic theory, bonding, stoichiometry, acids and bases, rates of reaction, equilibrium and organic chemistry, tested through calculation-based and written questions.
Strong performance here depends on genuinely understanding the reasoning behind each calculation, not just memorising formulae.
A separate section of the exam is dedicated to the mandatory practical experiments, titrations, volumetric analysis, procedure, apparatus and sources of error.
Because it feels different from theory revision, this section is the one students most often under-prepare for, despite it being entirely predictable in scope.
We have a collection of free resources to help with Chemistry, including:
We teach Higher Level Chemistry only, from 5th Year onwards. Chemistry only exists as a distinct Leaving Cert subject from Senior Cycle, Junior Cycle years study combined Science instead. We do not currently offer a dedicated Ordinary Level Chemistry grinds option.
Chemistry is currently available at our Leeson Street location and online. It isn’t currently offered at Killester, Swords, Westmanstown or Dalkey.
Yes. You can mix and match online and onsite classes across different subjects. Once enrolled in a specific class, though, you can only attend that class, whether online or in person.
Fees depend on year group and how many subjects you take. For one subject, prices range from €1,020 (5th Year) up to €1,195 (6th Year) for the full 29-week course. Taking multiple subjects reduces the average cost per subject.
Every student gets live teaching, free class recordings available to rewatch until the end of the State Exams, and exam-focused notes covering theory and the mandatory experiments.
Yes. Every class, online or onsite, is recorded and available to rewatch through Moodle, right up until the end of the State Exams.
Yes. A dedicated section of the exam covers the mandatory practical experiments, including titrations and volumetric analysis, alongside the theory and calculation-based questions in the rest of the paper.
Yes. We allow class changes up to Easter, subject to availability. Contact our office on 01 661 3511 to arrange a change.
