Extracurricular Activities
Check out new additions to our extracurricular timetable below. As with any of the extracurriculars or lunch clubs, feel free to drop in and try them out.
Canteen
Our Canteen is located just past our 19-20 building, on the same side, immediately after the Hatch Street junction. Look out for The Institute blue Canteen sign. The school canteen is only for Institute students and staff and offers great quality food at great prices. Check out this week’s specials below.

Did you know?: BeeGreen is an Irish initiative that aims to foster Irish bee populations and halt bee colony collapse by raising awareness of the importance of the Native Irish Honeybee to Irish ecosystems and biodiversity. They incentivise this awareness through partnerships where you can host a beehive in your own garden! The best part is that BeeGreen manages and cares for the hive and pays you in honey! Golf Outing
There will be a golf outing for students during the October mid-term break. Organisation is under way for a great day out, including golf, lunch and prizes. To register your interest in this event and other upcoming Institute golf outings, please email John (jtaylor@instituteofeducation.ie) with your name, year and Handicap Index.
UCAS
We are delighted to say that the UCAS application process is well under way for our 6th year students. To be allocated a guidance counsellor to assist you with your UCAS application please email ucas27@instituteofeducation.ie or ucas2027@instituteofeducation.ie today! It would be most helpful to have your personal statement completed before your meeting with a guidance counsellor. The guidance team have an internal deadline of Monday 28th September for October 15th applicants. This is to allow enough time for us to organise your Predicted Grades and your school reference. Please go to FT 26-27; UCAS 2027 on Moodle for additional resources and information.
