We are thrilled to hear that Roisin Treacy, a current 6th Year student at The Institute, has been offered an athletics scholarship to Adams State University, Colorado. Roisin has won several championships in the steeplechase, the 1,500-meters, and the 800-meters. She has posed personal bests of 10:25 in the 3,000-meter, 4:51 in the 1,500-meter and 5:06 in the 1,5000-meter steeplechase. All of this is made even more impressive when you remember that she is currently in the middle of 6th Year and studying for the Leaving Cert in June 2021.
In addition to being a standout runner, Treacy has competed hockey and has been a national champion in tetrathlon which encompasses swimming, horse riding, shooting and running.
While at Adams State, she plans on majoring in biology. We are excited to follow her journey as she finishes her secondary education with us and then heads over to study and compete in the USA.
