As a teacher with expertise in Higher Level Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Andy has over 10 years’ experience teaching Leaving Cert Maths and is a specialist in the subject. His teaching style is designed to maximise the potential of students of all abilities, while creating a positive learning environment for students to thrive in. He places a strong emphasis on building students’ confidence in the subject of Mathematics and breaks down topics clearly and concisely for ease of learning.
He is an active committee member of the Irish Applied Maths Teachers Association (IAMTA) and co-ordinates the annual regional IAMTA quiz and last year took two teams to the National Final held in Athlone. He also assists in the running of the Irish Maths Olympiad (IrMO) entrance exam and the American Maths Competitions (AMC10/AMC12).
He holds a First-Class Honours degree in Mathematics and Physical Education from Dublin City University.
