This course is designed to help students design an effective revision and preparation plan for the last few months as the exam approaches.
Particular emphasis will be placed on the art and craft of successful essay writing, with a focus on the Studied Poetry and Comparative sections of Paper 2.

Topics covered will include:

• The role and dramatic significance of Claudius in ‘Hamlet’. We will look at what to expect from questions in the Single Text section of Paper 2.
• The characteristics of narrative, persuasive and aesthetic language will be outlined. This work is crucial for any student looking to prepare for Paper 1.
• The poetry of Seamus Heaney.
• Notes will be supplied on all 8 prescribed poets, all three Comparative modes, 30 Comparative texts and a selection of Hamlet topics.

The French oral exam accounts for 25% of the overall marks awarded in French. This exam-focused course is intended to build student confidence and conversational technique, ensuring a more relaxed and confident performance in the Leaving Certificate French oral examination.

This course will develop and reinforce the student’s proficiency in speaking while concentrating on the skills and Grammar required for the Leaving Certificate German Oral Exam 2024.

• Leaving Certificate German Oral format and marking scheme will be covered in detail including roleplays and pictures sequences for 2024.
• In-depth concentration on answering skills and techniques needed to achieve maximum marks.
• General questions on all main themes will be covered with sample answers provided.
• Main tenses – Present /Past /Future /Conditional with sample answers supplied.
• Option to discuss a German Literary Text or German Film
• Essential Grammar including word Order needed for the Oral

In this course, we will highlight the key points needed in order to give students the confidence they need to tackle their Leaving Cert. We will approach the remainder of the poetry and prose sections bearing in mind the common pitfalls on the paper. Our students will be provided with excellent material and be given a revision of the literary layouts. We will then focus on the more topical issues for the up-coming oral examinations while fine tuning our pronunciation in the language for top marks. The remainder of the course sees our students tackle the most current essays with excellent notes containing vocab, phrases and full sample material. This course will see our students feeling confident as they approach exam season.

The Irish Oral exam is worth 40% of a student’s overall Leaving Cert grade in Irish. Many students experience significant pressure to perform exceptionally well in this.

This Leaving Cert Oral preparation course will help students achieve their potential and boost their confidence by providing a full set of comprehensive notes. These notes will include sample answers covering all aspects of the Irish Oral Exam from the Introduction, to the Poetry Reading, to the Conversation and the Picture Sequences.

We will also look at the layout of the exam, pronunciation in Irish, strategy, tips and techniques as well as advice on the most optimal way to prepare and study for this 40% exam and achieve the highest possible grade.
