For many children, the step up to secondary school can be a stressful time. Tailored to primary school leavers, this Primary to Secondary Bridge course prepares your child for what’s ahead and eases the transition.

In four engaging Saturday sessions, children develop the social and study skills they need to settle quickly into a new learning environment.

Mentored by an experienced primary teacher, your child builds self-awareness, learns techniques to make friends and fit in, and gets ready to deal with the new teaching pace and workload.

Primary To Secondary Bridge Course Leader Rebecca

Meet the course leader – Rebecca Saunders

An experienced primary teacher, Rebecca is passionate about helping young people to harness their strengths and achieve their potential. Expert in preparing pupils for the challenges of secondary school, she is proficient in developing intrapersonal skills and values practical, task-based learning. Her background in drama and multimedia studies means her courses are creatively-focussed, energetic and engaging.

Our Primary to Secondary Bridge workshops take place over four Saturdays in May and June, with a pause for the Bank Holiday Weekend.

The fee for this course is €165.

Please note:

  • There is a 10% reduction per child when more than one family member attends the course.

Primary to Secondary Bridge – FAQ

Q: How long is each workshop?

A: Each workshop runs for 2 hours.

Q: What is the format of the workshops?

A: Primary Bridge workshops are delivered in a classroom setting, in a relaxed and informal style. Experienced with working with students of this age, Rebecca uses techniques from drama and art teaching to deliver information in fun and memorable ways.

Q: Are the workshops recorded?

A: No, unlike our regular classes, these workshops are private.

Q: Can students ask questions?

A: Absolutely. Feedback and insights from the children are welcome. Through open and honest dialogues, Rebecca helps children to verbalise their hopes and fears so they learn from one another and alleviate their concerns.
