This class is designed to focus on key elements of the Leaving Certificate Higher Level Chemistry exam. Notes and sample answers will be provided.

The 4-hour session will be divided into four distinct revision areas (55-60 mins each with a brief break in between each session)

Notes and Sample answers will be provided and the following topics will be covered:

• Paper 1: Analysis, including focus on the Question A Reading Comprehension Task, as well as how to successfully prepare for the Composition task.
• Paper 1: Short Story Writing – planning and structures required for exam ‘Composing’ tasks.
• Paper 2: Analysis of King Lear – “Language and Imagery” – dealing with a “Character Question” – Cordelia worked example.
• Paper 2: Analysis of studied poetry questions and how to prepare for this section with a specific focus on a selection of poems by Eavan Boland.
• Additional guidelines on successful ‘Comparative’ essay writing also provided.

This course gives a comprehensive overview of key elements of the Leaving Certificate Higher Level French syllabus.

Topics include:

• Grammar: 4 core tenses
• Reading and Listening: Exam techniques and vocabulary to maximise marks in these sections
• Written production: Diary entry & Opinion pieces

In this block course, we will tackle key points on the Leaving Cert in order to give students the confidence they need to approach their exams. Students are provided with excellent material for the initial poetry and prose pieces while we focus on the effective use of material and its application to the marking scheme. We will take sample questions and demonstrate how best to maximise the student’s marks in these sections. Following on from this, we will provide essay material and show how to avoid common pitfalls in the composition piece. We will then introduce the oral topics by again focusing in on the key areas and how to best to approach the exam. Finishing off our block course, we will demonstrate how best to tackle the aural comprehension by giving out key advice and information. By the end of our block course, our students will feel comfortable proceeding with their senior cycle.

• Resources for working on Listening skills
