Irish Preparation Course

For students entering 5th & 6th Year

Monday 30th June – Friday 11th July 2025

This Irish Preparation Course will focus on preparing students for the Leaving Certificate Irish examination. The course is designed to provide Senior Cycle students with a comprehensive knowledge of the Leaving Certificate Irish course. Significant emphasis will be placed on developing the vocabulary and language skills to achieve success. Emphasis will be placed on examination technique and comprehensive notes will support class tuition.

Cúrsa Ullmhúcháin na hArdteiste

Is í príomhaidhm Chúrsa Ullmhúcháin na hArdteiste ná daltaí a ullmhú do scrúdú Gaeilge na hArdteiste. Dearadh an cúrsa chun eolas cuimsitheach ar chúrsa Gaeilge na hArdteiste a thabhairt do dhaltaí na Sraithe Sinsearaí. Cuirfear béim shuntasach ar fhoclóir agus ar scileanna teanga na ndaltaí a fhorbairt chun rath a bhaint amach san Ardteist. Díreofar ar theicnící scrúdaithe agus tacóidh nótaí cuimsitheacha le teagasc ranga.

Students will cover elements of the following Leaving Certificate topics:

  • Composition | Ceapadóireacht
  • Comprehension | Léamhthuiscint
  • Oral Irish including sraith pictiúr | Gaeilge labhartha, an tsraith pictiúr san áireamh
  • Grammar | Gramadach
  • Poetry | Filíocht
  • Prose | Prós
  • Aural preparation | Ullmhúchán don Chluastuiscint

This course will take place every week day between 10:00am – 1pm

  • All classes take place on our main school campus, 79-85 Lower Leeson Street, Dublin 2.

The fee to join our course for the 2 weeks programme is: €595

Q: Are the class notes available online?

A: No, a hard copy will be provided to each student from the teacher for the subjects they enrol in.

 

Q: How long is each class?

A: Each class will run over 3 hours each day.

 

Q: How much is the fee per class?

A: Please refer to the fees table to see a list of fees.

 

Q: Is attendance at courses monitored?

A: Yes, students are required to sign a roll sheet at each class they attend. The Institute however accepts no responsibility for students who fail to attend class.

 

Q: Are the classes conducted ‘lecture style’ or are students free to ask questions?

A: Our classes are interactive and our teachers use a variety of methods to ensure that students can ask questions and contribute to the class.

 

Q: My son/daughter cannot attended the course. Can we buy the notes?

A: No. Teaching is a central part of all our courses. The notes are to facilitate recall and revision of the day’s work covered by the teacher.
