This 4-day Online Christmas Camp for Transition Year students provides students with expert tuition, high quality notes and key techniques to enable them to achieve their maximum potential in their exams.

The course provides students with both live online classes, where they can interact and engage directly with the teacher, and pre-recorded tutorials, which will be made available to the students in advance and after the course is finished.  All classes will be supported by The Institute of Education’s legendary class notes, which support tuition. These will be provided free of charge and will be delivered in December, in advance of the course start.

This course provides an opportunity for students to consolidate prior learning from the Junior Cycle and to obtain an introduction to Leaving Certificate Maths topics.

This course introduces students to the key requirements of Leaving Certificate Higher Level English.

  • Introduction to the Language of Argument and Narration
    Both are key concepts on the Leaving Certificate curriculum.
  • Introduction to Othello
    The Shakespeare play that will be studied by 95% of students for Leaving Certificate 2023.
  • Introduction to the poetry of Elizabeth Bishop and WB Yeats
    Two of the eight poets prescribed for study in Leaving Certificate 2023.



Building on knowledge from Junior Cycle Irish, this course introduces students to the requirements of the Leaving Certificate Higher Level course.

Topics from:

  • Poetry
    Intro to the 5 poems on the course.
    Focus on theme & emotion.
    Overview of optional Drama/ Novel (An Triail) that students can also choose to do for the course.
  • Prose
    Intro to prose on the course.
    Brief synopsis of theme & main emotion of each.
  • Writing
    Useful vocabulary and phrases for essays, debates etc.
  • Oral exam
    Requirements for the oral exam.
    Intro to the 20 picture sequences.
    Language for basic topics.
