This week is Wellbeing Week at The Institute and there have been lots of activities and events happening throughout the week.
As you may have seen around the school, we held a school Culture Day on Wednesday, May 4th. This idea was proposed and thoroughly supported by a number of our international students to celebrate the diverse cultures in the school community.
Flags and traditional decorations were hung around the school and we invited everyone, students and staff alike, to wear clothes from their own culture. Throughout the day, there was traditional Middle Eastern board games, Chinese Calligraphy, and traditional Asian music facilitated by Yun Wu, our Chinese Teacher. Various international foods were also be available including Russian pancakes made by some of our international students.
Fortune cookies and Asian sweets were handed out before school and throughout the day. There was also a greeting board for students and staff to add greetings in their native language.
You can see some photos from this amazing day below.
