Futures Fair 2024: Opening Doors for Leaving Cert Students
Just before the Mid-Term break, 6th Year students at The Institute gathered for our annual Futures Fair. It was an inspiring and insightful day filled with talks and guidance from academic experts.
Each year, our Futures Fair provides 6th Year students with the chance to explore a wide range of career and education pathways, offering a hands-on opportunity to learn about their options after school. Representatives from colleges and institutions across Ireland attended this year, including University College Dublin, University of Galway, Trinity College Dublin, Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI), Queens University Belfast, IADT, and many more.
The Futures Fair not only provided students with valuable information about their options but also gave them the opportunity to ask questions about courses they’re interested in, receive personalised guidance, and discover areas they may not have previously considered. Students connected with academic and student representatives from each institution and explored career pathways in healthcare, technology, business, the arts, and beyond. Talks throughout the day by industry professionals gave students insights and tips into a wide variety of professions. The event also allowed students to network with current students and recent graduates, who shared their own academic journeys and advice.
As always, Futures Fair 2024 proved to be an invaluable experience for Leaving Certificate students, helping them clarify their goals and make informed decisions on their next steps after school.
We would like to extend a thank you to our Guidance team for organising a fantastic event, to all the colleges and institutions that participated, and, of course, to our 6th Year students. We’re proud to support our students on their journeys and look forward to seeing the exciting paths they choose!
