Institute students come out on top after great day of debating!
The Institute of Education hosted the inaugural Senior Mace Debate Competition on Sunday the 9th March. It was a great day of intense debate with competing students from 16 different schools.
The competition was judged by an outside panel consisting of members of college debating societies. The overall winners on the day were Nare Paronyan and Lina Hassan of The Institute, who claimed victory in the final on the motion of “It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all”.
It was a great day of competition with lots of talented debaters on show. Many thanks to David Connolly for organising this event. Well done to everyone who participated and we hope you all enjoyed your day!
Best of luck to Lina and Nare who are now heading off to Oxford this weekend for the Oxford Schools Trials.
