Lorcán Burns

Lorcán Burns is a passionate, hardworking teacher with eight years experience at secondary level. He is a former Fulbright Scholar who spent a year teaching Irish in Glucksman Ireland House NYU as well as Drew University, New Jersey. Lorcán frequently spends time working in the Gaeltacht in Connemara and also teaches courses in Ráth Chairn from time to time. As a Leaving Cert State Examiner he has a wealth of knowledge in the Leaving Cert program most notably the Oral portion of the exam. H

e studied his BA in University of Ulster before moving on to UCD where he completed a Masters in Scríobh agus Cumarsáid na Gaeilge which included a short spell translating for the European Commission in Brussels. Lorcán then completed his teaching qualifications in St. Mary’s University College Belfast. He comes from an Irish speaking family and is passionate about Armagh GAA. In his spare time he is the Irish Language Officer for his local club Silverbridge Harps and has an interest in all things sport.
