Louise Boylan

A specialist in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Physics, Louise has over 25 years of teaching experience. One of Ireland’s first female authors of secondary-level Maths books, she has co-authored 17 books, including the “New Concise Project Maths” series of textbooks and “Destination Maths” for Post-Primary classrooms. She has co-authored the best-selling “Less Stress More Success” series of revision books and is the Consulting Author of the “Linking Thinkingbooks for Junior Cycle Maths. Louise is also a contributor to RTE Drivetime’s StudyHub and features in episode 3 and episode 7 in the 2024 season.

Textbook writing has established Louise as an authority on Post-Primary Mathematics. A member of the Irish Mathematics Teachers’ Association of Ireland, her experience of correcting with the State Examinations Commission and creating Mock Examination papers gives her an in-depth knowledge of what is required by students to get better grades. Louise’s style of teaching helps to instil confidence by giving students the skills to understand and master the syllabus content.

Louise is also an in-class supervisor and assessor for student teachers who are completing the Professional Masters in Education at Trinity College Dublin, and she has taught revision seminars to examination candidates on the Trinity Access Programme.

In 2022, Louise featured in the rte.ie/learn series to support students in their preparations for the Leaving Certificate exams.
