World Book Day is celebrated by UNESCO on April 23, every year. April 23 is a symbolic date for world literature because on this date in 1616 that Cervantes, Shakespeare, and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega all died. Hence, the day was selected to pay tribute to the great literary figures.
