It’s Week 10 of The Buzz Newsletter! Congratulations to 6th Year students Andy Bian and Clementine Xu who were both finalists in the 2025 John Locke Global Essay competition. Andy was awarded a merit in the History Category and Clementine received a High Commendation in the Law Category. Well done guys!
Congratulations to 6th Year students Nicole Joy and Senan O’Rourke who proudly represented Ireland at the 2025 World Junior Badminton Championships in India. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and wish them the very best of luck in their future sporting edeavours.
This term our 4th Years are assisting with the Team Hope Christmas Shoe box Appeal and are hoping all years will support them with this worthy campaign. Team Hope will be collecting your gifts at 5pm next Wednesday 12th November from the 4th Year office. You can drop them off until 4:30pm on Wednesday. See The Buzz for instructions on how to take part.
The CAO officially opens for applications on Wednesday, 5th November at 12pm. We will host a series of CAO lunchtime talks for students and online talks for parents and guardians. CAO lunchtime talks take place each day this week from Monday 3rd to Friday 7th at 12:30pm in HG-1. It is imperative that every 6th Year student attend one of these talks.
Masterclasses:
- This Thursday, 6th, there is an English masterclass with Clodagh Havel. It is for 5th & 6th Years and is live online at 6pm. The link is on your Moodle.

- 8th November: UCD Open Day. 10am – 4pm.
- 8th November: Mary Immaculate College (Thurles Campus) Open Day. 10am – 1pm.
- 8th November: BIMM Music Institute, Dublin Open Day. 11am – 2pm.
