Graduation Day 2026

Institute of Education Graduation Day 2026

Celebrating the Class of 2026

On Monday we celebrated a momentous occasion, the Class of 2026 graduated at University College Dublin’s prestigious O’Reilly Hall. It was a wonderful day, blessed with spectacular weather, as students were celebrated by teachers, friends and families alike.

Graduation Day is one of the most important days in our academic year, as it marks a significant moment in every student’s life, where one chapter closes and the future lays wide open. This day gives students the opportunity to reflect on their journey with us at The Institute and reflect on the tremendous personal & academic growth achieved since they first walked through our yellow doors.

The day was filled with moments that will stay with our students for years to come. Heartfelt speeches from teachers and student representatives highlighted the strong relationships that have been built within the Class of 2026, both in and out of the classroom.

Academic Awards were also presented across all Leaving Certificate subjects, a physical token to acknowledge students who showed exceptional dedication and a passion for learning.

Among the many deserving students recognised on the day, two awards celebrated exceptional contributions to life at The Institute of Education. Elvira Aswani was named Student Of The Year for her outstanding academic achievements, determination and motivation throughout her time at the schoolWhilst our second award, Student Contributor Of The Year, was presented to Ho Bao Phong Le, whose kindness, encouragement and support to fellow students helped foster a positive and uplifting school environment.

This year’s graduation was special as we took the time to recognise some of our longest serving teachers; these educators have guided and helped students to achieve their goals here for more than 20 years. Anne-Marie Walsh, Keith Hannigan, Tara Lyons, William Murphy, Carole Oiknine, Oliver Murphy, Jean Kelly, Sean Delap & Cian Hogan were each presented with an award for their unwavering commitment to the school and our students. Their dedication continues to shape and inspire generations.

Alongside speeches from our Principal Yvonne O’Toole and Deputy Principal Aideen Corr, we were delighted to be joined by Tim Fish, CEO of Dukes Education. In his address, he praised the resilience and ambition of the graduating class, reminding students that while they now leave as alumni, they will always be part of The Institute of Education wider community.

A final huge congratulations to the 6th Year Class of 2026. We are proud of all you have achieved, and we look forward to seeing where your talents and ambition will take you in the years ahead.
