Welcome back to The Buzz Newsletter Week 10! We hope you all had a very enjoyable and relaxing Mid-Term break and are ready to hit the ground running for the second half of term!
We have more students spotlights to celebrate this week! Congratulations to 6th Year student Ai Lin Sun on winning the 2024 Frank Maher Classical Music Award, Ireland’s largest classical music competition for secondary school students. The competition was held on Friday 25th October at The Royal College of Physicians. Ai Lin has been awarded a bursary of €5000 to contribute to her musical development. Past winners of the award have gone on to study at prestigious institutions like Julliard School, New York, Harvard University, and the Royal College of Music in London. Congrats Ai Lin!
Some of our 4th year students met An Taoiseach Simon Harris at a recent community event held by I Wish. I Wish is a community that is committed to showcasing the power of STEM to young girls through interactive workshops and activities. We are proud to see our 4th year students getting involved and learning about the world of STEM.
Well done to our 4th Years who organised a bake sale on the last day of school before midterm. Without any help from staff, they raised a brilliant €450 for LauraLynn, Ireland’s only Children’s Hospice. Well done everyone!
