It’s Week 26 of The Buzz Newsletter! Congratulations to 5th Year students Kent (Liyuan) Liu, Yu Fei Shao and Tianci Yan who not only got first, second and third place in the AMC 12 exam in The Institute of Education but in all of Ireland! Kent received such a high mark (120/150) that he is in the top 5% worldwide. Their results also mean that they qualify for the American Invitational Maths Exam (AIME) taking place this month. Huge thank you to Oliver Murphy for organising!
Well done also to 5th Year student Sophie Bao Garrahy who received the Highly Commended award in the Newpark Academy of Music Vocal Competition. Sophie competed in the Junior Musical Theatre 15-18 Age group on Saturday 22nd of February at the Newpark Academy of Music in Blackrock. Congratulations Sophie!
Guidance Counsellors would like to wish our 6th Year aspiring US College students the very best of luck with their SAT (US Scholastic Aptitude Test) this Saturday 8th March, and also the best of luck to our students sitting the MSAT – Ulster University exam this Saturday and Sunday 8th & 9th March!
A reminder to 6th Years to check if you NUI or TCD language exemption has been recorded by the CAO. To do this, go to the Qualifications and Assessments section of your CAO application.
Our 4th Years will be taking part in the RCSI Transition Year MiniMed and MiniDentistry, MiniPharm, MiniScience and MiniPhysio programmes running this week. This offers 4th Year students an excellent opportunity to gain experience of what it is like to train and work as a healthcare professional.
The Institute of Education Student Law Society is holding a meeting this week on Tuesday 4th March for all students interested/considering Law.
