It’s Week 37 of The Buzz Newsletter! It’s the final Buzz of the year! Each week has been so packed with information and pictures of successes that it feels like there was barely a moment of pause.
Congratulations to 5th Year students Conor O’Neill and Alexander Vysotski on their recent success at SciFest 2025 in DCU. SciFest awarded just 13 projects Special Category Awards and their project “TactAI” won the Technology Award. Well done Conor and Alexander!
Congratulations to all our athletes who had great success at the Leinster and East Leinster Track and Field Championships this month. Emily Bolton placed 1st at the Leinsters in the Senior Girls 1500m and at the East Leinsters in both the 1500m and 3000m. Alex Leonard came fifth in the Leinsters 200m & 400m, and 2nd at the East Leinsters in the Senior Boys 200m & 400m. Róisín Ingle came 2nd in both the Senior Girls 4x100m & 400m Hurdles. Our Senior Girls Relay Team claimed 5th place at the Leinster Championships. Well done everyone!
Well done to 5th Year student Holly Browne who has qualified for the RDS Dublin Horse Show in the combined training competition. Congrats Holly!
Congratulations to 5th Year student Tommy Little who has been selected to represent Ireland in the JM4 at the European Rowing U19 Championships in Poland on 24th & 25th May. Best of luck Tommy!
With our 6th Year students settling into serious study mode for the upcoming Leaving Certificate exams, there are some options being offered in libraries at third level institutions:
- TU Dublin are offering a Free Leaving Cert Study Programme at the libraries at each of their 5 campuses from 26th May – 24th June at Grangegorman, Aungier Street, Blanchardstown, Bolton Street and Tallaght.
- Details of the UCD Library 2025 Leaving Certificate Student Study Programme will also be available in May.

- 21st May: Blackrock Further Education Institute Open Day. 2-4pm.
- 21st May: Rathmines College Open Day and Evening. 1-3pm and 5-7pm.
- 21st May: Sallynoggin College of Further Education Open Day. 1-3:30pm.
- 22nd May: Bray Institute of Further Education Open Day. 7-9pm.
