Recently, our Director of Sport Brian Gregan, held a baking class that centered around wellbeing. Being a professional athlete, Brian has a lot of experience in how food can affect your wellbeing, when it comes to looking after your mental and physical health. During this wellbeing session he focused on how food affects your wellbeing and showed the students how to bake a delicious, but still healthy flapjack treat. This health is great for delivering the right kind of energy to your brain and body when you need it. It is also a health treat so you don’t need to work about it containing all the bad things ‘normal’ treats can contain.
What’s great about the flapjack is that it is also a slow release energy treat. This means that it will help keep you energised for much longer than a chocolate bar for example. This slow release energy will also help your brain to stay switched on and focused for longer too, making you more productive.
