Yesterday evening, 4th Year students from The institute of Education presented a cheque for €15,562.78 to the Irish Cancer Society at Kilkenny Shop.
We have been following this particular 4th year experience since November, when the students participated in Kilkenny Shop’s charity gift-wrapping initiative. After attending a gift-wrapping workshop run by Kilkenny Shop, students were allocated time slots to volunteer during the busy Christmas season. In the festive spirit, customers donated what they could to the Irish Cancer Society. You can read a first-hand account of their time at Kilkenny Shop, here.
We would like to thank Head of 4th Year, Hugh Brett and 4th Year Coordinator, Trisha Fullston for organising this fantastic volunteering experience. Also, a huge well done to our 4th year students for all their hard work!
