Welcome to Week 28 of The Buzz Newsletter!

It’s Week 29 of The Buzz Newsletter! We hope you all had a great weekend! Congratulations to our students, who have secured us a national record of 15 gold medals in The Young Economist competition this year! Our students will now advance to the National Final at O’Reilly Hall, UCD on Tuesday the 5th.

Another congratulations is in order for our 4th year student Sarah McCormick, who has won an award in the features category of the Young Journalist Ireland 2026! the judges were highly impressed by her article on euthanasia, and she deserves all the recognition she is receiving. thus category of the competition was amongst the most competitive, and for Sarah to receive 3rd place is a huge testament to her dedication.

 

Lunchtime Talks: 

There will be 2 Lunchtime Talks this week:

Monday 20th April, Room H1-1 from 11-11:50am: 

A Maynooth University’s Schools’ Liaison Officer will
present on all the courses in the university for 4th and 5th years.

Wednesday 22nd April, 4th and 5th years, H1-1, 11 – 11:50am

A  Student Recruitment Officer at Dublin City University will cover all their CAO programmes, as well as facilities on campus. You are welcome to bring your lunch but please don’t be late.

Saturday 25th April: Maynooth, St Patrick’s Pontifical University, TUD (Grangegorman & Bolton street Campuses), ATU (Sligo Campus, and St Angela’s Sligo)

Monday 20th April: TUD Tallaght campus @ 17:30

Wednesday 22nd April: TUD Blanchardstown @ 17:30

Revision Classes: 

  • Every Monday – Thursday we host drop in revision classes in HL Maths. For 6th years from 7:55-8:27am in 2-3 (Mon, Wed, Thurs) & in H1-1 (Tues) & for 5th yrs 8:30 – 9am (Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs) in L2-2.
  • Every Wednesday we have a drop in revision class in HL
    Maths with Aidan. It is for 6th years in H1-0 /
    3:30-4:30pm. Aidan covers a new topic each week.
  • Every Monday we have a drop in revision class in Economics with Rob. It is for 6th years in HG-0 /4:30-5:30pm. Rob covers a new topic each week.
  • Every Tues & Fri we have drop in revision in Biology
    with Roisin in G-4. For 6th years from 7:57 – 8:27am.
